Jacqueline Bensaid

I began my career more than 25 years ago working within the fashion industry on catalog, runway shows, and editorial photo shoots. I had the great pleasure of working with some of the top models and designers of the time. Having always been a huge music fan, I was thrilled when I began working within the music industry with record labels such as Arista, Sony, and Island Def Jam. I was hired to style recording artists for their press tours, which included live performance, magazine shoots, album covers, interviews and television appearances.

It was also during this time that I began working as a freelance Hair Stylist and Make up Artist for MTV and VH1. I was booked to work on studio shows and ENG location shoots for both on air hosts and guest celebrity talent. In 1994 VH1 re-launched the network and I was asked to come on board as the head studio Hair and Make up Artist. I worked to create the looks for all on air hosts and was available for guest celebrity talent. I remained with VH1 until 1999 when I felt it was time for a change.

I went back to my freelance roots and worked mainly with production companies and photographers for various interviews and photo shoots featuring Keith Richards, Bon Jovi, Susan Sarandon and Courtney Love. In the fall of 2002 I received a call about a studio position they thought I’d be a perfect fit for. It was for a cool new music network called FUSE. I accepted the position as Head of the Hair and Make Up Department. During my tenure at FUSE, I have been lucky enough to work on a variety of additional freelance projects. Some of which included the Broadway musicals,”Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” and “Rock of Ages”.

I can honestly say that I am just as thrilled about doing hair and make up today, as I was when I stepped onto the set of my very first photo shoot. I am honored to be a part of this community and truly enjoy all of the places I’ve been and the people I’ve met along the way because of it.
